A change in the weather

6 Nov

I have always thought of fall in West Texas as the bumpy landing on a runway.  The airplane makes its gradual descent, as do the temperatures, but then the wheels hit and bounce back up a few times.  The temperatures drop down gradually to the 80’s and then spike to the 90’s for a few days, back to the low 80’s, then high 80’s, then finally the 70’s, with a few days in the mid-80’s, and then, what do you know?  it’s winter.  That is exactly how this feels.  I am in the bumpy stages and I have had a few emotional flare-ups and breakdowns, but I can feel that things are cooling off, and I look forward to the season of hibernation.  It all sounds very refreshing.
